Hello Room 204!
My name is Ms. Debelak, and this will be my second year teaching first grade at Bradwell School of Excellence!
I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2011 with a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Public Relations. I took a year off from school to volunteer as a Corps Member with City Year Chicago, where I tutored freshmen in Algebra I at Marshall Metropolitan High School in East Garfield Park. I loved working with those students so much I decided to go back to school for teaching! I received my Masters in Teaching through National-Louis University and the AUSL residency program. I student taught first grade at National Teachers Academy, and I loved first grade so much that I decided it was the grade for me!
When I am not teaching, I love going to trivia contests and concerts for my favorite bands. You’ll probably get to see me dance at some point in class! I currently live in Chicago with my boyfriend Jake and our pet snake, William. Jake likes to come visit Bradwell and bring pictures of William, so you’ll probably get to see both of them this year!
